I am a very passionate artist, teacher, coach and father. I have been a professional artist as long as I can remember. Currently my environmentally based work can be found in an art store and gallery on Catalina Island. However, you do not have to go all the way to Catalina to see my art, I have painted murals at many schools in So Cal. My passion lies in the studio arts, ceramics, sculpting, painting, digital design and 3D design. I have taught Studio art for 14years. I was a very prolific ceramicist at Long Beach State, where I received my Teaching credentials. If the occasion calls for it, I am very familiar with teaching using the distance learning platforms, as I spent 1.5 years teaching from home during the Covid Pandemic. I have a very successful Google classroom, where students and parents can access classroom information and instruction from anywhere. I come from a long line of teachers. It’s in my blood, to be a teacher, mentor, and coach to my students. I believe that a teacher must be all of those things. It is our job to inspire and guide our students to making the best and most important decisions in their young lives. I believe in the fact that the school age years are the most formative years in a young person’s life, and we are obligated to give them the best of us. Over my 14 years in the classroom, I have developed the confidence and wisdom needed to run a successful classroom where respect is given and received. I have said for many years my job as a teacher is to help my students get to college and be ready for the challenges ahead. Early on in the development of my career I sent some time as a one on one, special education assistant. I developed a love and understanding of students with special needs. My best practices using equity, diversity and inclusion are constantly evolving to enhance educational outcomes. Most recently I have been lucky enough to work at the happiest place on earth. Working at Disney I have a whole new perspective on the creative job sector. I hope to bring this perspective into the classroom.
